It’s everything a Bohemian brand should be – care free, sensual and fearlessly sexy.
is said to have originated from the sun-soaked lemonade stand childhoods of
best friends and smoking hot designers, Gillian
Mahin and Laura Hall.
The brand is based in LA and plays on the city’s infamous carefree attitude, mixing clashes of colours and prints into easy wearing two pieces and jaw dropping gypsy dresses.
This sample of images are taken from the freshly released lookbook for ‘About A Girl’ Spring 13.
The collection is based on the “delicate innocence and awkward essence of teen angst in the 70’s…with a somber and unique sexuality, each garment translates through a natural and gentle femininity. In a comatose state of mind, the collection leaves you with an addiction….a desire for more.” FL&L.com
The new s13 collection is a very girly contrast to the intensely sexy, nasty but nice ‘Les Femmes’ Resort 12 collection.
“She wanders the French Riviera like she owns it, plucks flowers like they’re the forbidden fruit of long ago, and loves with such intensity, it will forever torment her. ” FL&L.com
The classic shift dress is given a punky overhaul with a rad wide-mesh knit and an extra flowy fit.
There’s plenty of vintage looking lace inserts and collar necklines to be seen in the Midnight In Morocco – Holiday 12 collection.
This lace crop top with venetian lace trim is incredibly demure and boasts a simple yet flirty cut. Pair your crops with high-waisted jeans, a teenie mini or a $5 layered tulle skirt à la Carrie Bradshaw.
This silk rayon maxi is the ultimate dinner date dress for a beach holiday; pair it with a hearty wedge, or even better, bare feet. The two thigh high leg splits require super smooth, sun kissed skin which unfortunately can only be accomplished by lots of sun lazing.
This chocolate brown open back maxi is so sweet, the silk velvet chiffon features burnout distressing which shows off flashes of flirty red beneath.
The heavily featured venetian lace trim adds an almost lingerie like feel to garments, which help to create the brands sexy but innocently girly aesthetic. This is especially noted throughout the Viva La Viva Summer 12 Collection.
I’m an absolute sucker for bell sleeves so was instantly drawn to this gorgeous red silk dress with delicate all-over embroidery. The plunging neckline creates a long, lean silhouette whilst the cut-out side panels ooze sex appeal.
Maxi’s aren’t just for the sunshine months, dress them up for winter by adding a cropped leather biker jacket and a large cashmere scarf that can double as a wrap. Throw on a pair of thick woolly tights and chunky ankle boots.
I adore the colour combination featured in the above image. The teal blue looks so striking against the fuchsia and clementine accents noted on the Fiesta tank.
Who doesn’t love a chunky
knit? I always tend to by them in huge sizes so they swamp me in a cosy
I am certainly a kimono girl at heart, however my city existence doesn’t quite allow for such free-flowing garments. It’s not quite as romantic wearing one on the tube and getting the train caught in the sliding doors. Perfect for BBQ attire, not running errands but who wants to run errands anyway?
With brands like For Love & Lemmons, the exquisite imagery makes for one exciting shopping experience. You start to live out the pictorial stories in your head and before you know it, your basket is full of items you never even knew you needed until now!
Or visit them in store in LA or NYC.

LOVING the sa-weeeeet new stuff in at Los Angeles based brand Stamped LA
The imagery is so
striking! It literally makes me want to book a coastal road trip round the US with nothing but a Dope swimsuit
and a fluffy towel.
It’s relaxed, clean and sharp and brings recollections of my 90’s childhood back into a sleek, fuss-free reality.
