My last outfit post inspired me to dig out the Paris pictures from our mad trip there this Feb. We went for a study trip SLASH giant party and had the
best time – imagine 30 odd fashion students on the loose. Shit got cray.
9am – Eurostar – London St Pancras to Gare Du Nord Paris
Start as you mean to go on, right?
2pm We arrived at our Etap/Ibis abode in force – ‘orderly que’ does not bode well with 30 girls who wanna bag the best room with their bezzie…kittens were had.
|Settling in lasted all of 5 minutes – we jumped on the metro and headed to some bars in Montmatre. Pigalle to be precise, AKA the centre of sleaze. Cool though, full of young hipsters and a hotbed for electro clubs like Boule Noire, La Cigale, and La Machine du Moulin Rouge.
The drinks were abruptly interrupted once we saw that magical word starting with a ‘V’ through a frost covered window…VINTAGE! We sprinted.
One naughty thing led to another and we somehow ended up in here, the Sexodrome. WOW, this was, um, an experience. HA! We laughed and laughed like giddy school girls in a sweet shop. A bad girls heaven and an immature girls hell – good luck keeping a straight face.
After a quick perv, we headed over to see the bright lights of the infamous Moulin Rouge – you can’t go to Paris without seeing this iconic thing! We didn’t see a show, however, we did eat about a thousand crepes at the nearby stall whilst taking in the scenery. Mmmmmm.
We strolled through the freezing streets of Montmartre to stumble across a very warm looking Australian bar full of rowdy youths – perfect!
When I say it was cold, I’m talking -10 cold. COLD! OH SO VERY COLD. This fluffy little guy saved my life over there – yes, I look like a 5 year old Russian girl but I was and still am V attached to this snuggly hat. You wait, this winter EVERYONE will be wearing them.I got mine from the legendary ski shop Snow & Rock but there’s heaps of amazing ones on ASOS by Blanche in the Brambles if you want to splash out. If not, ebay?
A HUGE group of backpackers walked in the Aussie bar and seriously got the party going. Turns out they were on a pre-arranged bar crawl led by a local hooligan. We tagged along and headed with them to the next place.
Most of the bars in Montmatre had live music, slouched sofas and cocktail pitchers. So parfait!
I wish I could remember the name of the bars we visited but i’m going to put up a link to some bar crawls in the area, here – but i’d wait until you get there, because like any englishman abroad, we enjoy a good bargaining sesh with the locals…
