January is always a quiet little month…
My bank balance is sadly in intensive care, slowly recovering from the Christmas battering, and the ‘ New Year, New Me’ mantra has turned me in to a snuggly recluse. I’m staying in, watching films and eating comfort food. The exact opposite of what one ‘should’ be doing in the month of ‘bettering ourselves’.
Us Brits do like to talk about the weather and I’m no exception! Hasn’t the snow been fun? I’m very fortunate to be living right on Hyde Park so Mr A and I have been taking full advantage of the acres of winter wonderland surrounding us. Mr. A tends to cast me in the part of a 15 year old boy and thinks it’s OK to batter me with snow balls and fill my pants with the freezing stuff. This is not OK, or attractive. Imagine a beached whale in the snow, it looks weird, right? Well that was me.
Before the snow set in, we were going on frequent OAP-stylee walks to shake off our cabin fever. Southbank is always a cute little walk, with its arty, but chilled, vibe. It’s so nice to sit and watch the skaters fly by, or mooch around the little art galleries, cafes and let’s face it, bars.
I haven’t actually raided the sales this time round; in fact, I’m not really a sale type of girl. I rarely actually buy clothes as I never like how they look on me, that’s why I prefer styling for others. Shoes however, I love! I scored this pair of ASOS (Kurt Geiger look-a-likes) for a mere £30! Unfortunately, I sent them back as the cut was very peculiar, but they looked pretty when mirror posing!
It feels very tranquil here in London at the moment. It must be the calm before the storm.
The magical storm that is London Fashion Week! Not long – Eeeeek!
